WEXFO

MORE YOUNG VOICES

Lillehammer and Utøya, Norway

26-31 May 2024

WEXFO More Young Voices will be a group exchange program organized by WEXFO together with the partner organizations Polish Youth Council, European Youth Press, and Börsenverein, in collaboration with Utøya AS.

The More Young Voices project aims to provide a platform for young people and youth organizations from different countries in Europe to share their experiences and discuss the challenges to freedom of expression they face. Through training and non-formal learning methods, the project will equip participants with skills and tools that increase their ability to participate actively in society and overcome the limitations on expressing their opinions.

Utøya – a place for commemoration, learning and engagement

22 July 2011 Utøya became the scene of the worst terrorist attack in Norwegian history. A far-right terrorist attacked AUF’s summer camp, and many were killed. Today Utøya is an open, accessible and inclusive arena for engaging, learning and remembering.

How they have enabled new life is what impressed me the most at Utøya. It's so human, it's so sincere, it's so truthful.
