The Norwegian Festival of Literature and the World Expression Forum (WEXFO), in collaboration with Musikk i Innlandet (Music in Innlandet) and the Lillehammer-based newspaper GD, invite you to a public meeting for freedom of expression. Onstage in the garden of the Scandic Lillehammer Hotel, we will be joined by guests including the Norwegian Minister of Culture and Equality Lubna Jaffery, the editor-in-chief of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo, Gérard Biard, and this year’s Bjørnson Prize winner, Caspar Eric. Kulturhjerte will sing for us and Lillehammer’s refugee writer, Meryem Sultan, will share her powerful voice. Additionally, the children of Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi, Ali and Kiana Rahmani, will read a message from their mother, who is currently imprisoned in Iran. This gathering brings together WEXFO participants, authors, the publishing industry, festival audiences, and people of all ages in Lillehammer to support the fight for freedom of expression in Norway and internationally.
