The County Executive Committee has decided to grant the World Expression Forum (WEXFO) NOK 1.5 million annually for the next three years. These funds will support content production, the development of activities, and the dissemination of knowledge, with a particular focus on youth initiatives.
County politicians recognize WEXFO’s significant national and international role in promoting youth participation in democracy. The decision to support WEXFO was unanimously approved.
“It is very uplifting that Innlandet County Municipality shows a clear dedication and support for freedom of expression and our work to promote this locally, nationally, and internationally. WEXFO is growing, and with the county municipality behind us, we can increase our activity level and engage more young people in the fight for freedom of expression and democracy,” says Kristenn Einarsson, Managing Director of WEXFO.
WEXFO’s youth initiative gathers over 1500 young people at events held concurrently with the annual WEXFO conference in Lillehammer, Norway. These events, designed in close collaboration with partners, youth, schools, and teachers, attract participants from around the world. The aim is to use tools developed through this collaboration in other regions of Innlandet and beyond, through various collaborative projects.
