Become a volunteer at WEXFO 2026

Join us in creating a global arena for freedom of expression and democracy!

WEXFO’s annual conference is a global arena for freedom of expression. Each year in Lillehammer, we bring together leading voices from around the world – journalists, artists, authors, activists, academics, tech experts and politicians – to explore how we protect and promote free expression in a changing world.

Parallel to the conference, WEXFO’s freedom of expression festival WEXFO Youth Voices takes place in the garden. The festival invites students from local schools in the region to participate in different workshops, and sessions tailored specifically to them.

As a volunteer, you play a vital role in making these events a success.

Why volunteer?

What will you do?

Our volunteers help with a variety of tasks, such as:

• Preparing the arena in advance of the conference and festival.
• Welcoming and registering participants.
• Assisting during sessions and workshops.
• Providing information and guidance.
• Supporting logistics and technical needs.

Who can apply?

• Age: 18+
• Good communication skills in English.
• Volunteers living in the Lillehammer region.

When and where?

• Dates: Sunday, 31 May – Tuesday, 2 June 2026
• Location: Lillehammer, Norway

Volunteers should be available for an information meeting before the events.

Practical information
