Dina Ghalibaf

Dina is a journalist whose identity has been shaped by writing for as long as she can remember. What began as a childhood instinct for sharing stories grew into a lifelong commitment to journalism. Early on, she learned to take words seriously – not only as tools for communication, but as a responsibility toward others. Dina started her professional career in Iran, where her reporting focused on the lives of vulnerable and often invisible people. Through her work, she learned to approach journalism with empathy and closeness, seeing her subjects not as distant stories but as members of a shared human family. She has reported on people struggling with addiction and poverty, as well as on families marked by irreversible loss, documenting suffering alongside resilience and hope. After migrating, she lost her primary journalistic position and now support herself through cleaning and domestic work, moving between different homes each day. Despite these challenges, writing remains central to who she is. Her experiences as a migrant and worker has deepened her perspective and strengthened her desire to return to journalism. Today, her focus is on telling stories of poverty, isolation, and the loneliness of elderly people in France. She believes writing is not merely a profession, but a way of seeing, remembering, and resisting erasure. Even in uncertainty, she remains committed to bearing witness through words.
