The World Expression Forum (WEXFO) welcomes Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue and the Norwegian Authors’ Union as new shareholders.
With these additions, WEXFO further strengthens its network of partners committed to advancing freedom of expression, democratic values, and open dialogue.
“We are very pleased to welcome two new shareholders who are leading actors in their respective fields. They bring valuable expertise to WEXFO and will help strengthen our connections to dialogue initiatives and literary communities – both crucial for safeguarding and advancing freedom of expression,” says Ingunn Trosholmen, CEO of WEXFO.
“It is important for WEXFO to remain broad and inclusive, and we are encouraged to see more actors recognizing the value of being part of the forum. I look forward to our continued collaboration.”
Anita Rapp, Executive Director of the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue (Nansen Fredssenter), sees joining WEXFO as a natural extension of their work with dialogue and democratic values:
“Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue is pleased to become part of the WEXFO shareholder community – individuals and organisations that share our commitment to freedom of expression, democratic values, and building communities of disagreement. We will contribute our experience and expertise in dialogue, and look forward to learning from the WEXFO family. Together, we will achieve a lot, led by the highly skilled WEXFO team.”
The Norwegian Authors’ Union (Den norske forfatterforening) also highlights the importance of strengthening alliances in a time of democratic decline.
“Several democratic indicators have shown negative developments in recent years, and freedom of expression is the democratic right that is declining the most. The Norwegian Authors’ Union has always been committed to defending space for free expression and open debate, and is therefore pleased to support an actor like WEXFO by becoming a shareholder,” says Sivert Nesbø, Chair of the Norwegian Authors’ Union.
Founded in 2021, WEXFO has grown into a community of more than 80 shareholders and an established meeting place and global network of freedom of expression advocates.
