Ghawgha is a musician from Afghanistan, renowned for her heartfelt peace songs. While pursuing her studies in law, she embarked on a musical journey in countries where singing was prohibited by law. During peace negotiations with warlords in Doha, she shared her songs on social media, garnering global attention in 2018. Her music resonated deeply, particularly in Persian- speaking regions, leading to repercussions for individuals in Afghanistan and Iran who engaged with her music through singing, dancing, and sharing. In 2021, she was honored by the BBC as one of the world’s hundred most influential women. Following the upheavals in Afghanistan, she sought refuge in Norway as a resident artist, supported by Safemuse and ICORN. Currently based in Harstad, Norway, she has released a mini-album and a full-length album, captivating audiences through numerous concerts. Notably, she performed at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in 2023. Continuing her mission to create impactful music for peace from Norway, Ghawgha is dedicated to spreading her electrifying performances worldwide.
