Hiqmat Sungdeme Saani is a gender, communications, and digital transformation professional from Ghana with a passion for using technology to advance freedom of expression, digital rights, and gender equality. Growing up in a region where access to education and free expression for women and girls was limited, she became a fierce advocate for inclusive digital spaces. She is the founder of Paahibu Space, an initiative that empowers young women and entrepreneurs with digital skills to amplify their voices and create economic opportunities. With over seven years of experience in advocacy, she has led grassroots and global initiatives on online safety, internet governance, and digital inclusion, influencing policy discussions at forums such as CSW67 and the European Humanitarian Forum. Hiqmat currently serves as a Youth Digital Engagement and Safety Intern at Plan International Netherlands, where she mobilizes and connects over 1,000 young changemakers across Africa and the Middle East to drive policy change and digital rights advocacy. She is also a Digital Marketing Associate at Shasha Network, supporting youth access to personal development opportunities. As a WEXFO Utøya Young Expert, Hiqmat seeks to deepen her engagement in freedom of expression advocacy, collaborate with global changemakers, and advance policies that protect marginalized voices in the digital age.
