Iliana is an editor and Managing Director of Solomon, an award-winning investigative newsroom in Greece dedicated to public-interest journalism. In a media landscape marked by shrinking press freedom and growing political and economic pressures, Solomon stands out as one of the few paradigms challenging entrenched power through rigorous investigative reporting. Under her leadership, the newsroom has earned international acclaim for exposing issues in human rights, technology, environmental challenges, and institutional accountability.As the only female managing director and publisher in Greek media, Iliana champions sustainable newsroom cultures, prioritizing journalist well-being, mental health, and ethical leadership. She promotes a feminist and inclusive approach to media management, emphasizing equity, collaboration, and resilience in high-pressure environments.An active contributor to the international journalism community, Iliana has presented at conferences such as Dataharvest, the International Journalism Festival in Perugia, and the iMEdD International Journalism Forum. Collaborative investigations she has worked on have received awards including the IJ4EU Impact Award, the Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize, and the European Press Prize. She is a 2026 Ochberg Fellow, a 2024 LEDE alumna at Columbia University, and has served as a juror for several major journalism awards.
