Jonas Gahr Støre

Jonas Gahr Støre became Prime Minister on 14 October 2021. He previously served as Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2005 to 2012, and as Minister of Health and Care Services from 2012 until the change of government in 2013. He was State Secretary and Chief of Staff at the Prime Minister’s Office from 2000 to 2001, and has a background from the civil service and humanitarian organizations, including serving as Secretary General of the Norwegian Red Cross from 2003 to 2005. He became leader of the Labour Party in 2014 and has been a Member of Parliament for Oslo since 2009.
