Producer at Integral Film. Former journalist and professor in gender studies at The University of Oslo. Lorentzen has published several books, among them Masculinity: Men in Literature and film (2004), Gender studies – An introduction (2008), History of Fatherhood in Norway (2012) and Men’s Experiences of Violence in Intimate Relationships (2019). He was a pioneer in gender studies, establishing studies on masculinity in Norway. He is widely recognized as a speaker and public voice on issues around gender, masculinities and sexualities. Lorentzen has been active in international gender equality projects and cultural development, with projects in countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. He is now also engaged on a local level as an elected member of the municipal council representing the Social Democratic Party. He is the international secretary of The Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers and Translators Association and working espescially with Africa and Ukraine.
