Svenja Hahn was born in Hamburg in 1989 and serves as a member of the European Parliament in the Internal Market Committee (IMCO) and the International Trade Committee (INTA) since 2019. Svenja Hahn works primarily on legislation on digitalisation. For her liberal group Renew Europe she negotiates the European Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) and served as the Group’s coordinator in the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in the digital age (AIDA). As the trade policy spokesperson for the German liberal party FDP in the European Parliament, she is committed to foster new free trade agreements, for example with New Zealand, Australia, India or MERCOSUR, as well as the link between trade policy and human rights. Since June 2022, Svenja Hahn serves as Vice President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE Party) – the European umbrella association of liberal parties. She is also working in the federal board of FDP and as the Chair of the FDP’s Federal Expert Committee for International Politics. Svenja Hahn studied history and cultural studies at the University of Giessen, as well as media studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
