Professor Yuval Shany is the Hersch Lauterpacht Chair in International Law and former Dean of the Faculty of Law at the Hebrew University. He currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Israel Democracy Institute, a Distinguished Fellow at the Ethics in AI Institute at the University of Oxford and a Visiting Professor in the Center for Transnational Legal Studies at King’s College, London and the Geneva Graduate Institute. He was a member of the United Nations’ Human Rights Committee between 2013 and 2020 (chairing the Committee between 2018 and 2019). He leads, at present, an European Research Council group of researchers investigating the Three Generations of Digital Human Rights and head’s the Hebrew University Task Force on Academic Freedom and Dialogue.
