Did the Traditional Media Lose the Elections?

Breakout session and workshop featuring keynote speech Choose the Truth by Branko Brkic, founder and the project Kontinuum and Editor-in-Chief of Daily Maverick, South Africa, followed by a panel including American author and counter-disinformation expert Nina Jankowicz, journalist Sharon Zulu, Programme Director of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO), Paolo Cesarini, and leader of Project Kontinuum and former editor-in-chief, Branko Brkic.

The workshop, led by Paolo Cesarini, will address the question: ''What is our toolkit against disinformation?'' This interactive session will delve into the concept of disinformation, and participants will engage in discussions about the three dimensions of the EU policy framework relevant to addressing disinformation-related risks:

1. Inter-governmental cooperation to counter foreign interference and hybrid threats.

2. Co-regulatory instruments to enhance transparency and accountability of large online platforms.

3. Tools designed to strengthen media freedom and enhance societal resilience.
