Keynote speech by researcher and political scientist Staffan Lindberg from the Varieties of Democracy Institute at the University of Gothenburg, who provides an update on the current state of democracy and freedom of expression in the world today: Where are we heading? Lindberg's presentation is based on the world's largest dataset on democracy, containing over 19 million observations related to human rights, media, civil liberties and political institutions.
